Alice Queen Holding approached the Kaurareg Aboriginal Land Trust to form a joint venture company “Kauraru Gold Pty Ltd” in May 2013 to explore for gold resources within the Kaurareg Archipelago.
The Horn Island (Ngurupai) project lies in the Kaurareg Archipelago of the Torres Strait, north of Cape York Peninsula. The township of Wasaga located on Horn Island (approximate population 650) is located only a few kilometres from the Horn Island gold field and is well serviced by the Horn Island Airport (Qantas Link and various freight and charter operators), deep water port (Sea Swift) and multiple passenger ferries which operate a regular schedule each day between Horn Island and the regional administration centre of Thursday Island.
Horn Island (Ngurupai) comprises an existing known mineral field and abandoned gold mine that was only previously explored to shallow depth and only a small part of the known mineralized area. Kauraru Gold intends to expand the scope of exploration and understanding of the extent of the mineralisation.
Horn Island (Ngurupai) is an exciting opportunity for our joint venture company, Kauraru Gold. Visit the Kauraru Gold Website for more information.
